DID NOT ATTEND POLICY
The Practice has a strict "Did Not Attend" policy for patients who fail to keep their GP/Nurse appointments.
Patients who fail to attend for two appointments within a three month period will be contacted by letter indicating that they have been given a warning about their attendance. The warning will state that should they miss another appointment during the next three months then the practice will contact the Health Authority and request that they be removed from the practice list.
Patients who contact the surgery before their appointment to cancel or rebook will not be included.
In June 2017 the following statistics were recorded:
81 patients failed to attend for their GP appointment which wasted 14 hours of GP time
54 patients failed to attend for their Nurse appointment which wasted 12 hours of Nurse time.
The majority of these patients booked their appointments 2 days earlier and some even on the same day!
Patients who genuinely needed to see either the Doctor or Nurse during this time and were unable to get an appointment and had an unnecessary wait.
